Paul's Last Will and Testament
2 Timothy 4:6, 7, 8
Verse 6 - The Present
- 2 Timothy 3:12-13; 4:5
- What are we doing for generations to come behind us? We must prepare preachers and teachers (2 Tim. 4:2-3)
Verse 7 - The Past
- Paul fought. There are things worth fighting for - children, wife, husband, church. We must keep on fighting!
- It's a race (Heb. 12:1). We must run with patience. Are you even in the race? (Acts 9; 22)
- Paul kept the faith. This is a military term, as a soldier on watch for the enemy. We are soldiers. We have an enemy: the devil. We have something we must defend: the Faith!
Verse 8 - The Future
- Paul had confidence he would receive a crown, the victory. All that love His appearing should have this confidence!
What does this mean for us?
How does this challenge us?
Am I ready right at this moment?
