Meet Our Ministers
Alan Watkins, Pulpit Minister

Alan has been part of our family since June of 2002. He and his wife, Janice, have three children and five grandchildren. Alan is an avid sportsman especially with interests in hunting, fishing, and enjoys a round of golf when time permits.
Alan serves as the director for Wiregrass Christian Youth Camp 1-2 graders week. He has served this role for several years and thoroughly enjoys it. One of this week's camp traditions is a shaving cream battle where campers and staff love to gang up on Alan.
Alan comes from a preaching family. His father, James, and his brother, Bill, have served the Lord faithfully as gospel preachers. Alan has served congregations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee and has conducted several revivals and gospel meetings. He has travelled numerous times to Guyana, South America, on mission trips. He graduated from Freed-Hardeman University with a Bachelors degree in Bible (1976). He also earned a Master of Arts degree in Old Testament Theology from Southern Christian University (1991).
Robert Guinn, Outreach Minister

Robert joined our family in May of 2018. He is a native Texan who was raised in the world's largest small town of San Angelo. Robert and his wife, Elizabeth, have two children, Canaan and Lily, and a dog, Gizmo.
Robert is a fun-sock wearing, Dr. Pepper enthusiast who appreciates a good cup of coffee. He enjoys good conversation, spending time in God's creation, and playing just about any kind of game. Robert loves seeing the transforming power of God's word work in people's lives, renovating their souls.
Robert and Elizabeth love to serve others. They have served as youth camp counselors, house parents for a children's home, and as foster parents. Robert is a graduate of Brown Trail School of Preaching and received his Bachelor of Arts in Bible from Freed-Hardeman University. He also earned his Master of Ministry in Ministerial Counseling at Heritage Christian University. Robert proudly serves our community as a volunteer chaplain for the Decatur Police Department.
Cody Michael, Outreach Minister

Cody joined our family in May of 2018. He is a Tennessee boy at heart and Volunteer through and through. Cody and his wife, Elizabeth, have four children: Landon, Honesty, Brayla, and McKinley. Being lovers of animals and the great outdoors, the Michael's family have numerous pets and enjoy staying active.
Cody never meets a stranger. He has a unique way of connecting with people that makes you feel like family. Cody enjoys fishing, mudding, and riding his motorcycle. His greatest joy, however, comes from helping souls draw closer to God and the salvation found in Jesus Christ.
Keith Jett, Youth and Family Minister

Keith and his wife Teresa, grew up at the Austinville congregation and then left and became the Youth Minister for the Grant Street congregation, both here in Decatur. He left Grant Street and worked with another congregation for 9 years. During that time, the two previous congregations merged to create the Decatur Church of Christ so in January 2023, Keith and Teresa both returned home.
Keith works with our young people from the ages of kindergarten through 12th grade. He assists the families and youth in their spiritual and physical growth as a family and as a Christian. He is a people’s person and loves to serve and help everyone.
Keith received a BA in Theology from Southern Christian University; he has completed a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy and then finished his MDiv in the fall of 2022 from Amridge University. He is retired from the US Army and currently is one of the Chaplains with the Decatur Police Department.
