When the Rooster Crows
Mat. 26:31-35
- Satan is a powerful enemy; we're never beyond his attack even when spiritually strong
- Consider Peter, an exceptional man (Luke 5:1-11)
- Peter was whole hearted (John 6:68; Mat. 16:16)
- Jesus recognized Peter's qualities (Acts 2; Acts 10)
- Peter's successes and failures were notable
- Some of Peter's problems rested in his faith (Mat. 16:21-23; Mat. 16:13-20)
- Jesus said that all would be offended that night (Mat. 26:31-35)
- Yet Satan used Peter (Luke 22:31-34)
- It happened just as Jesus said (Mat. 26:69ff)
- For every Christian who dares to grow and mature in Christ there will come a time when the rooster will crow for us as well
- What will we do when the rooster crows for us?
- Quit? Or like Peter, let God put us back together!
